Post-doc en Raman, Nanofotónica y Espectroscopía no lineal – Harvard

Postdoctoral Position in Surface-enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS), Nanophotonics, and
Nonlinear Laser Spectroscopy

The Mazur Group is looking for a recent Ph.D. to work on a nanophotonics project focused on
single-molecule surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), starting this summer. We will be
developing novel techniques for fabricating and characterizing ultra-high (>1010) enhancement
factor SERS substrates using femtosecond laser surface nanostructuring, colloidal nanoparticle
synthesis, and optical antenna engineering.

Experience in at least one of the following areas is required: nanofabrication, laser (fluorescence,
Raman, surface-enhanced Raman) spectroscopy, nonlinear optics, polymer chemistry, surface
chemistry, or microfluidics. The ideal candidate will have a recent Ph.D. in physics, chemistry,
applied physics, optics, electrical engineering, biophysics, or a related field. Excellent written and
oral communication skills are a must, along with the ability to work effectively in a
multidisciplinary research lab. Applications received by April 1, 2008 will be given first
consideration. The position will remain open until filled.

The initial appointment will be for 1 year, with the possibility of extension for up to 3 years.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, a statement of research interest, a CV which includes a
summary of research experience and publications, and two letters of recommendation at the
following web address
