Post Doctoral Research Position

BioMolecular Structures group

Dr. Michel Mons

A Postdoctoral Research position is available to work in the field of laser spectroscopy of biomolecules in the gas phase. The work will be focussed on laser measurements of conformational barriers in peptides and on the spectroscopy of peptide hydrates.

The ANR-funded position is available from October 2009. The initial appointment will be for one year. Extension for a second year will be possible, contingent upon progress and mutual agreement. Net salary range is approximately from 2100 to 2300 Euros per month depending on the experience of the candidate.

Saclay is located in the SW of Paris, close to the cities of Orsay and Gif-sur-Yvette, at approx. 20 km from Paris center.

The successful candidate is expected to hold a PhD in a relevant area of chemical physics since no more than 2 years. He/she will have prior experience in gas phase techniques, including high vacuum, lasers, spectroscopic techniques and mass spectrometry. Background in theoretical approaches to electronic structure and force field calculations would be an asset.

Applicants should send a full CV, list of publications, with the names and addresses of at least two academic referees. The closing date for applications is 15th April 2009.
